10 Hard Rock Albums MUCH Better Than You Remember

9. High Voltage - AC/DC

So much of AC/DC's music feels like it's belonged in the repertoire of rock since the beginning of time. If you were ever even made aware of rock music, chances are something like Back in Black and Highway to Hell were gateway drugs to check out the vast array of great music that rock has to offer. On the other hand, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll.

Despite not really selling well right out of the gate, High Voltage is one of the first true artistic triumphs for these guys. Rather than most acts fumbling through their first hits, this debut hits the ground running, as Bon Scott snarls like the bulldog he is across tracks like Rock n Roll Singer and the bluesy dirge the Jack.

That could also be due to the fact that this was the group's first international release, with their first records only getting picked up in Australia.

Though most of us didn't get the picture until later, this would go on to give some of AC/DC's greatest cuts like TNT and It's a Long Way To the Top, which have remained concert staples ever since.

Even with most rock purists droning on about AC/DC being a one trick pony, not many artists can perfect their trick this well on their first try.
