10 Hard Rock Albums With Only One Bad Song

5. Bugs - Pearl Jam

Despite all of the media firestorm coming their way, it was not all that fun being a member of Pearl Jam after 1994. With Kurt Cobain's death casting a shroud over the rest of the Seattle scene and their ongoing fight against Ticketmaster, the amount of tension boiling over behind the scenes made everything slow to a crawl when recording Vitalogy. While they were able to come through with the goods on this record, we did have a few...let's call them moments and leave it at that.

Going through the entire album for the first time, you'll have modern classics like Spin the Black Circle up against some of the most befuddling songs to ever come from a mainstream rock band, even ending with an 8 minute sound collage. Though most of them do end up contributing to the record, the entire point behind Bugs almost seems designed to piss people off.

Recorded with a dumpy old accordion that Eddie Vedder found during recording, the entire track just feels like some abstract bit of art rock that sounds like Captain Beefheart if he somehow became more and less sane at the exact same time. As much as the music came first before anything else, this is the perfect excuse for Vedder to just vent his frustration out onto a piece of tape.
