10 Hard Rock Bands Who Kept The Same Lineup

4. Muse

Alternative rock seems to fit in the comfortable middle ground between hard rock and the mainstream. For every fan who loves The Beatles but is not ready for something like Slayer, they normally find their bridge into heavier fare in the alt rock genre. It may have a middle ground tone, but Muse have been one of the most thunderous bands going in alternative rock today.

Covering everything from classical to arena rock to even Western sounding material, there's almost nothing that is off the table for this band to take on. The colossal sound of the band gets all the more impressive when you realize it's only coming from three guys. With Matt Bellamy being the real musical force on guitar and vocals, the rhythm section of Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard is immense, with Wolstenholme's basslines anchoring everything down and Howard flexing his musical chops on everything from a metallic kit to a digital sampler.

Above all else, the band also seem to be on the best of terms even after two decades in the business. For as much band drama you hear from the heavyweights of the genre, these guys are still making fantastic hard rock music just for the pure joy rather than the ego.
