10 Hard Rock Christmas Songs That Are Actually Good

7. A Twisted Christmas - Twisted Sister

On the surface, hair metal is probably the one hard rock genre that had the smoothest transition into Christmas songs. After all, the glam rock that came before had songs like Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody, so it's not really that difficult to see that cross over into the Poisons and Motley Crues of the world. In a world where this combination felt like a chocolate and peanut butter scenario, no one did it better than Twisted Sister.

Then again, it's not like you couldn't see this coming from a mile away. Even at the height of their fame, the Sisters always had a cartoon bent to their sound that seemed tailor-made for the holidays. As it stands, A Twisted Christmas is one of the more classic all-around Christmas albums to come from the era of big hair and leather pants, as Dee Snider snarls with delight over these holiday classics.

However, it does get weird about halfway through when you realize that the core melody to O Come All Ye Faithful was...ahem..."borrowed" by the band on their classic hit We're Not Gonna Take It. Weird case of plagiarism aside, this is one of the most interesting takes on the Christmas theme to ever come out of the '00s. Though the modern version of Twisted isn't really active anymore, this is one of those few relics that can still warrant a smile every now and again.
