10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years

9. In Flames - Colony & Clayman

In 1990, a bunch of Swedish metal musicians were discussing a name for the new band and went "Pfft, subtlety, what's that?"

As a result, their group was given the super on-the-nose name of In Flames and they would go on to become multi-million selling artists around the world.

The group from Gothenburg were prolific in their early years, pumping out five different studio albums between 1994 and 2000. The two we're interested in are the final ones from that stretch; 1999's Colony and 2000's Clayman.

Colony is looked back on fondly by fans of the group, as this was the first record to feature their "classic" line-up. The quality of songs like Zombie Inc. and Ordinary Story shows why this combination stuck together.

Things only got better on Clayman, as the band settled into their groove and cranked out 11 more top quality songs. Bittersweetly, this would be the final album to feature In Flames' original sound, as they would go more mainstream with their next release.

Whether you love their new music or can't stand it, at least you'll always have Colony and Clayman.

Colony and Clayman... wait a second, that sounds a bit like...
