10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In The Same Year

8. The Doors - The Doors & Strange Days

Whilst you may not immediately think of psychedelic pioneers The Doors as "hard rock", there's definitely some edgier elements to their music that carried over into future generations.

Also, enough hard rock bands have covered Doors songs over the years that we feel justified including them. So there.

Anyway, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1967. The record was such a hit that a follow-up was quickly put together, which gave birth to Strange Days later that same year.

The collection of songs spread out over these two albums is insane. Break On Through (To the Other Side), Light My Fire, The End, Love Me Two Times, People Are Strange, When the Music's Over.

That's the beginnings of a greatest hits right there.

Luckily for us, the initial release date of the first album was actually pushed back from late 1966 to January '67. They only snuck on to this list by four days, but hey, we'll take what we can get.

The band actually did this again when they released two albums in 1971, but one of those albums didn't have Jim Morrison on it. And we don't talk about The Doors without Jim Morrison.
