10 Hated Rock Albums That Are A Lot Better Than You Remember

3. Uno - Green Day

Over the last decade, time has been very unkind to Green Day's trilogy of albums Uno, Dos, Tre. Even though the idea of making a whole slew of material felt new and exciting at the time, Billie Joe Armstrong himself has come out and said that the whole drive behind these albums was pointless. While there were a lot of dead end roads in the making of these records, they were at least on the right track with the first outing.

Right off the bat, this is nowhere near reaching the heights of American Idiot or even 21st Century Breakdown. Looking to get back to basics, most of this album is just Green Day by numbers, getting more acquainted with the pop punk stylings they helped pioneer. Though some of these songs tend to sound interchangeable, stuff like Nuclear Family and Let Yourself Go showed that they at least had their chops down on this first one.

Even some of the throwback sounds they were trying out go over a lot better than they should, with Fell For You being a virtual Cheap Trick song and Troublemaker containing a half decent classic rock solo in the bridge. Then again, it's kind of hard to defend this one when stuff like Sweet 16 and Kill the DJ start to rear their heads. While it's clear that the same spark isn't on here, if the guys had made an EP of the best songs from here, it would have been phenomenal.
