10 Hidden Details You Never Noticed In Rock Songs
5. Wonderwall - Oasis
After grunge started to work its way off of the charts in the late '90s, it felt like the golden age of rock and roll started to come back with Oasis. Once they hit the ground running with Definitely Maybe, the Gallagher Brothers managed to top themselves with What's the Story Morning Glory, with almost half of the album being released as singles. That's not to say that the Gallaghers didn't remember where they came from.
Of all the singles, Wonderwall has probably been the most played out, being a go-to singalong for '90s nights as well as any joker with a guitar at a house party. As you peel back the layers though, there's a bit of interesting interplay going on at the tail end of the record. Going through the orchestral swell at the end of the song, you hear the strings swirling before finally ending on an acoustic guitar.
Instead of having a clear ending though, the actual riff is Noel playing a short snippet of Supersonic off of Definitely Maybe, only to stop it once the tape cuts off. Compared to the classic status that comes with a record like this, this short burst of music makes you feel like you're in the room watching these tracks come to life. While any other band might delete something like this, it serves as just a subtle reminder of Oasis' past.
