10 Hidden Songs You Didn't Know Were On Albums

9. The Rembrandts - I’ll Be There For You

One of the most recognisable songs across the world, you might know I’ll Be There For You better as the Friends theme tune. Originally the song featured as a hidden track on the Rembrandts 3rd album L.P and unsurprisingly it didn’t remain hidden for long, eventually lasting on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks.

The song is known for its upbeat tune and the essential clapping part and was chosen as the theme song after producer Kevin S. Bright was in the market for a song similar to R.E.M.s 1987 hit It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine). He specifically didn’t want a jingle writer to produce the song so instead chose a band that he liked and got them to put their own spin on the pop banger.

The band decided to turn I'll Be There For You into a full song for the album but ultimately it ended up losing its catchiness once spread out; regardless it will always be a classic theme tune though.
