10 Hidden Songs You Didn't Know Were On Albums

8. Green Day - All By Myself

Songs like All By Myself have the habit of scaring the s**t out of young soon-to-be punks listening to Dookie for the very first time not releasing a song comes at the end. Quietly after the seminal punk album finishes, All By Myself creeps in with drummer Tré Cool’s ode to teenage masturbation and thinking about the girl he’s crushing on. It’s not the kind of song you play with your parents in the room.

The song is goofy, sounding like it could be straight out of an Adam Sandler skit yet it retains the snotty attitude that Green Day perfected on Dookie. The album is all about young adult experiences of anxiety, sex and boredom and All by Myself wraps it up with all the vibes of three drunk kids messing about. Occasionally the band still play All By Myself live with Tré taking centre stage and Billie Joe Armstrong sitting at the drums. Long live the old Green Day!
