10 Hip Hop Songs With Surprising Samples

9. A$AP Rocky's "Ghetto Symphony" Samples "Psychobabble" By Frou Frou

New York based rapper A$AP Rocky has always been known as a little different from the rest of his peers. From being a fashion trailblazer to mixing his East Coast flow with the Dirty South chopped 'n' screwed culture, Rocky has always gone with another approach instead of following the crowd. His highly anticipated debut album Long. Live. A$AP had the usual hip hop bangers on there, including 'Goldie' and 'F**kin' Problems', but it was a bonus track on the album that caught the attention of many fans. On his critically acclaimed mixtape Live. Love. A$AP, Rocky sampled a song called Just For Now by English experimental singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, who is most famous for her music being on TV shows and films like The O.C and Garden State. He went back to the well again for his first studio album sampling Psychobabble by Frou Frou, a pop duo fronted by Heap back in the mid-2000s, for his song Ghetto Symphony featuring Gunplay and and fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Ferg. As much as Imogen Heap doesn't seem like the type of artist hip hop producers would be excited to use it's not the first time her vocals have been integrated into hard hip hop songs and if they continue to come out like this it probably won't be the last time either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYUD0ud7Ld0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j5xMRPjDcw
