10 Hit Songs You Had No Idea Used Samples

7. Harder Than You Think - Public Enemy

Even if it's been a while since you've listened to Public Enemy, you'll no doubt remember that the iconic hip-hop crew were never afraid to go hard. In their 2007 hit, with the help of a blaring horn section, they proved that they could go even Harder Than You Think.

Public Enemy absolutely own that brass line, and it's impossible to hear it without expecting Flavor Flav and Chuck D to let us know what goes ON. This is probably why many forget that the instrumental originated with a Shirley Bassey song that was, naturally, a hit in its own right.

Even with that incredible orchestral arrangement, Jezahel is one of Shirley Bassey's lesser-known songs nowadays. This is probably on account of it never being used as a Bond theme, which, if you ask us, was a sorely missed opportunity.
