But at the end of the day, this is a track from down under, which means it was released to our radio months before the rest the world. I heard it first...when I did, I knew it was destined to be an award winning stand out song. But I also I knew that very fact meant it was going to be playing on every hit radio, every music channel and pretty much anywhere and anytime. That was kind of fine...until it went international and hit the number 1 spot in the US and the UK. Then it came back on the radio, back on breakfast TV and back on primetime, when Gotye were interviewed by countless talk shows. You couldn't get away from the song and everyone seemed to love it. But even today, in 2013, the song is still included in the hot hits on radio and I don't know one person who doesn't sing along with the song for its unique sound and iconic video.
