10 Huge Rock & Metal Bands Glastonbury Couldn't Handle
2. AC/DC
It wouldn't be Glastonbury if the famous name of this Australian rock band wasn't published in every single prediction piece, rumour forum or at the top of a betting slip. When AC/DC announced their new Rock or Bust World Tour with free dates including the Friday and Saturday of the festival's weekend with their first UK gig in Glasgow booked in for the Sunday, fans were sure that this was the year that saw one of the world's biggest bands lose their Glastonbury virginity. Hearts were broken though when the announcements came and that little lighting bolt wasn't to be seen, and with this tour expected to be their last big hurrah, it's likely that we will never see the infamous inflatable Rosie or Angus Young do the duck walk across the Pyramid Stage, or even their own personal venue. The legendary rockers performed on their own purpose built stage at Download Festival in 2010, and it seems that organisers are of the mindset that no band is bigger than the festival. Maybe that's just because Angus didn't even know they had the rock and roll sort at the festival and "thought it was wellies and corporate" only.
