10 Iconic Albums You Won't Believe Are Turning 20 Years Old

2. Good Charlotte - The Young And The Hopeless

Good Charlotte's sophomore album turns 20 years old this year, and is still regarded as the band's best work!

Good Charlotte were almost dropped by their label due to poor sales of their eponymous first album, but The Young and the Hopeless sold 117,000 copies in its first week, two million within a year and now certified Triple Platinum.

Standout track Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous has become one of the most iconic pop punk songs ever due to its commentary on celebrity culture resonating with teenagers in the early '00s while The Anthem and Girls & Boys rocketed into the charts themselves.

Rolling Stone ranked The Young and the Hopeless at number 19 on the 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums, while Rock Sound put it at number 36 on the 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time list and 37 on Modern Classics 101, and Alternative Press awarded the album the Classic Album Award in 2016, .

The Young and the Hopeless turns 20 years old on 1 October, having been recorded between February and May 2002.
