Undeniably the UK’s most well-known festival, Glastonbury is due to return to Somerset in 2020. This will mark 50 years since 1970’s Pilton festival- the first of these massive events held on Worthy Farm.

Back then, tickets were £1, attendance was at approximately 1,500 people, and you received a free glass of milk when you arrived (Worthy Farm being a dairy farm.) There have been a few subtle changes made to the event since 1970.

Today’s Glastonbury is a whole different beast, with the music and arts festival now typically seeing 200,000 to 300,000 tickets sold every year and with tickets costing £248. Most scandalous of all is the fact that we’ve poured over every page of their website and have found not a single mention of free milk.

Line-up wise, Glastonbury is another festival which caters to a broad spectrum of music fans, with massive acts including Muse, The Cure, Metallica, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West and Basement Jaxx all having played headline shows. The sheer amount of acts booked every year ensures Glastonbury tickets are like gold dust.

2020’s tickets sold out in a record 34 minutes, so if you’re planning to go, your best shot is unfortunately a rather pricey third party resale site.
