10 Iconic Rock Stars Who Guested On Pop Songs

6. Bad Karma - Joan Jett

One thing you can credit Miley Cyrus for throughout her career: she's never minced her words too much. Ever since being the Disney pop starlet, Miley has done everything she could to get away from her teen phase, with albums that were either too weird on Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz or too poppy like what she came through with on Bangerz. On her latest album, she's seemed to find her home in rock and roll, and brought one of the queens in with her.

Though someone like Miley Cyrus may not have been the one we expected to bring rock sounding music back on the charts, Bad Karma is exactly the kind of stomping track that feels like it's ripped straight out of the '80s, and given an extra layer of kickass with Joan Jett in the back. While it's easy to just get swept up in Joan's presence on this track, she never overshadows Miley either, letting her find her feet as a rocker and actually come through with some real bite in her lyrics.

Compared to the other teen pop stars that tried to reach for something heavier, Miley seems to be tapping into something that's working really well for her. If anything, having Joan Jett taking on the role of the fun rock and roll aunt in this scenario is one of the single greatest accolades that a young rock star could ask for.
