10 Incredibly Successful Tracks Their Creators Actually Hate

6. Radiohead €“ "High and Dry"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKkr29EGc-Y Radiohead often shows up on lists of artists who hate their own songs, but in most cases, it's their debut single "Creep" that takes most of the glory (or lack thereof). However, while the band certainly has little fondness for the song that made them famous, the indifference they bare towards it is nothing compared to the hateful vehemence they have for "High and Dry." A restrained ballad that probably gave the guys from Coldplay a lot of their early career tricks, "High and Dry" has been roundly dismissed by the band, who famously cut the song from their debut album because they thought it made them sound like Rod Stewart. Label pressure earned "High and Dry" a slot on "The Bends," Radiohead's sophomore album, but record executives still couldn't force the band to actually play the song live. In fact, "High and Dry" hasn't appeared in a Radiohead setlist since 1998, compared to a number of 2009 features for "Creep." Thom Yorke even opened up about his feelings for the song in a 2007 interview with Pitchfork: "It's not bad," he said to the noted music publication. "It's very bad."
