3. Perfume (ƒ‘ƒ•ƒƒƒ)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoM665paLKM Perfume is a popular Japanese pop group from Hiroshima. The group currently consists of Omoto Ayane, nicknamed Nocchi, Kashino Yuka, nicknamed Kashiyuka and Nishiwaki Ayaka, nicknamed A-chan. Previously, there had been a forth member named Kawashima Yuka but she left the group the study at the Hiroshima University of Economics. The group's name came from the "ka" sound in Kashino and Kawashima. It is represented by the Japanese kanji ™. This kanji forms part of the Japanese word for fragrance, kaori (™‚Š). After Kawashima Yuka left the group, an interviewer asked them why they kept the name - after all they were one "ka" down. One of the other members said that they kept the name because they wanted their music to sooth the listeners feelings and make them happy, like perfume. Regardless of whether it makes you happy, you have to admit, it is really catchy. Their musical style evolved from Shibuya-kei, a Japanese sub-genre originating in Tokyo which mixed jazz, pop and synth-pop. They've added bit of bubblegum pop to the mix. This song is called Chocolate Disco.
