10 Late Career Bangers From Huge Rock Bands
4. The Offspring - Coming For You (2015)
Coming For You was the first single from the 2021 album, Let The Bad Times Roll. The fact that it was released in 2015 is largely irrelevant.
Indeed, the changing face of the music industry in the 21st century has forced a lot of acts to release honest-to-goodness studio albums less frequently. It took The Offspring six years to record it and it sat on the shelf for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nevertheless, in 2015, when the pandemic was little more than a science fiction movie plot none of us believed could actually happen, The Offspring decided to release Coming For You as a single. It was their first new song in three years and their highest charting hit in the US in the best part of twenty years. It is an absolute stomper and is the perfect headbanging, shouting at the man, punk hit from a band who have put out more than their fair share.
It was also the last proper single the band put out to feature founding bass player Greg K and long time Drummer Pete Perada, which is a bit sad but at least they went out with a banger.
