10 Laughable Post-Grunge Bands You Won't Believe Are Still Going

1. InME

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut-Rm4R6RlA While some bands like Creed are easy targets, it's not hard to understand why they're together. Even though a band's latest record may be selling terribly, past successes justify their continued existence. Creed for example managed to sell enough albums early enough that they could release 30 hours of Masonna-esque Japanese-noise tapes and people would still come to their shows to hear Scott Stapp warble over "My Sacrifice". What's more surprising is that despite all that money, Creed broke up for the second time in 2012 making this list that much more difficult. Fortunately, InME are still around, bafflingly enough. While it may be confusing for one such as myself who has never heard InME before today to put them as number one on this list, consider for a moment the following: InME is a successful post-grunge butt-rock band in a country that is mainly known overseas for artists like Radiohead, Blur, Pulp, Pete Doherty, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Oasis, The Beatles. Literally anything but the kind of music that InME has been associated with. And while you can certainly understand why V2 Records would sign InME it certainly fills me with bafflement to see them on the same label as The RZA and Michael Hutchence. To say it fills me with schadenfreude is an understatement. InME is a healthy shattering of the veneer of British perfection, hinting that the wretched cauldron of post-grunge is boiling away just beneath the new Horrors LP.
