6. Drowning Pool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO_QntXc-c4 Drowning Pool is most notable for being that band that wrote that song "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" right before their singer died. Notable for their affiliation with nationalist jingoism, Drowning Pool is almost more famous for their music being used to torture inmates at Guantanamo Bay. Over a 10 day period, during Mohamedou Ould Slahi's stay in Gitmo, it is reported that Drowning Pool's "Bodies" was played repeatedly, no doubt to induce sleep deprivation. Even if we consider small breaks between song plays, that's approximately 4100 times this poor man was forced to endure Drowning Pool. Ay chihuahua! That's a lot of royalties! While that alone would ensure Drowning Pool be enshrined among the worst offenders of history, their continued existence as an entity is arguably much worse. Though they would never receive the same sort of radio play as they would with their first album, regular appearances on Marvel films soundtracks would ensure the band hefty paydays. Some may argue that Drowning Pool aren't "post grunge" but there's no mistaking the awful over-processed, drop tuned guitar tone that only the finest modern grunge acts utilise.
