10 Laughable Post-Grunge Bands You Won't Believe Are Still Going

7. Puddle Of Mudd

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYE4CVhVkhw "Puddle of Mudd (often stylised as PUDDLE OF MU——) is an extremely stupid name, yet there are plenty of other reasons to hate these guys. Most notably "She Hates Me" which was a blatant ripoff of L7's "Pretend We're Dead" which itself was a ripoff of Suicidal Tendencies' "I Saw Your Mommy". And of course there are the rumours surrounding the band, where prior to signing with Geffen, vocalist Wes Scantlin kicked everyone out of his band at the request of Fred Durst. Of course these are just rumours and in the interest of remaining lawsuit-free we will continue to refer to them as such. Though I will point out that he looks like the kind of person to do that. Awful to a fault, Puddle of Mudd is grunge as distilled through the lens of modern rock radio, bitterly gripping onto the pathos without the self-loathing that comes along with it. Despite Fred Durst's best efforts to crush the band, Puddle of Mudd would continue to record leading many in the music community to ask "What's going on?", "Why is this happening?" and "I had no idea Puddle of Mudd were still a thing."
