10 Legendary Rock Bands That Aren't In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
7. Faith No More
Around the mid '80s, the hard rock scene was in desperate need of a shakeup. For all of the bands that were strutting around MTV in sequined leather pants, there wasn't nearly as much integrity in the music anymore. Rock and roll had originally started as being whoever you wanted when you stepped up to the microphone, and Faith No More may be one of the few that can claim to have done whatever they wanted.
For all of the fans that think the longevity of these guys begins and ends at the song Epic, their 40 year career has gone through some of the biggest shakeups that the rock world has ever seen, paving the way for alternative, thrash metal, and funk metal along the way. Though they may have been late bloomers, the band originally were friends with the guys in Metallica, and hearing that kind of smack in the face on albums like The Real Thing set the benchmark for what alternative bands were going to be down the road, almost paving the way for what Soundgarden would get up to.
Although some bands might get labeled as a one trick pony, there's an endless amount of risks that have come from their records, always willing to push the boundaries even if it means having to alienate parts of your audience along the way. It might not make for the greatest sales, but rock and roll was never about making money. It was about the kind of attitude you put into the music, and Faith No More have enough charisma in 3 minutes of a song than some inductees have in their whole songbook.
