10 Legendary Rock Shows In Music History

6. The Beatles Rooftop Concert

As we reached the beginning of the ‘70s, we had to realize the dream of the Beatles was coming to an end. After a few too many business meetings and creative differences going on between everybody, John Lennon had announced that he was leaving the group, with the rest of the band members struggling to figure out what they were going to do next. Just before everything went to hell though, they had one more surprise show planned for their fans.

Which is strange because the rooftop was the last place that they had in mind to play a concert. In an effort to save the TV special that they were promising their fans, the concert idea was originally going to be a few different places, from playing on a boat to John suggesting playing in an asylum. By the time that everyone got on the same page though, the only logical thing was to go up on the roof, playing right above the rooms where they made their magic for so many years.

Up until they actually went out, the band were hesitant, barking at each other until all eyes turned to John as he led them up to the top. For all of the bad blood that may have existed between them at the time, seeing them work off each other like they did in the old days was the perfect send off that the public needed for the Fab Four. You can go through as many shady business deals that you want to, but nothing can break that bond that you have with your bandmates.
