10 Live Shows That Changed Music History

1. Live Aid

Not every rock show has to be about raking in the big bucks. As much as businessmen can be seen as money-hungry until the day they die, the reason that you get into rock and roll in the first place is because you feel that you have something worthwhile to share with the world. And it doesn't really get more pure-hearted than what happened at Live Aid.

Being organized as a benefit to help raise money for those suffering in Africa, this mammoth show took place on two separate continents, with every single act coming together to raise money for a good cause. Aside from the fundraising mentality, it also helps when you have some of the biggest names in music on one bill, as Black Sabbath reunited with Ozzy, Phil Collins doing double duty on both continents, and U2 becoming one of the biggest bands in the world because of their appearance here.

But come on...you can't really bypass Live Aid and not mention what Queen underwent, as Freddie Mercury walked up on that stage and completely devoured Wembley Stadium, having every single audience member in the palm of his hand. Aside from the great amount of good done that day, any performance from this gig is a crash course in how you handle a large audience.
