10 Lost Albums From Famous Rock Musicians

4. Verse Chorus Verse - Nirvana

The problem with being a Nirvana fan is that there are only three studio albums to dive into, two if you only count the classic line-up.

Any potential extra material from the grunge heroes gets canonised immediately, including this long lost live album called Verse Chorus Verse.

In the wake of Kurt Cobain's death in April 1994, it was announced that a double album of Nirvana live performances would be released later that year. The first half would be a celebration of the band's entire history, whilst the second would feature their famous appearance on MTV Unplugged.

Nirvana's surviving members, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, struggled to put material together so soon after their friend's death, so the first part of Verse Chorus Verse was nixed. The MTV recordings came out in November to much acclaim.

Some of the planned tracks from this album eventually got released as part of From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah, a live album from 1996, but some still remain lost in the annals of history.

If you want to hear the version of Territorial Pissings recorded in December 1991, then you're fresh out of luck.
