Ever since it's been brought into existence, the adult alternative style of songwriter can always find a home with the public. Though none of these songs are meant to stick around for too long, you can normally expect an audience of a handful of hipsters and/or disgruntled 30 something parents to get a kick out of what you're doing. That's not what Jewel wanted though...she wanted to be the next Britney Spears.

Hoping to put a new edge into her sound, 0304 is the sound of her taking every wrong step to turn into a pop starlet mold, with Intuition being the litmus test for things not going right. While initially balking at this kind of song by saying that it was a satire of the celebrity lifestyle, it clearly makes a few fumbles when you start to hear her adopt the pillowy soft falsetto that acts like Britney were making at the time.

When you sit with the rest of the record, it delivers on the promise the single made too, as most of these songs either sound like blatant homages to Britney and Christina or trying to appease the edgy crowd with a couple of songs that sound like half-baked Avril Lavigne ripoffs. Even though Jewel might claim that it's satire, what's the thing we're making fun of exactly?
