10 Massive Drops In Quality Between Albums
3. Raditude - Weezer
After their disastrous breakup in the '90s, Weezer really seemed to pick themselves up in the early '00s. Going back to the nerdy alt rock that they were known for, things were starting to look up, with different songs actually getting on the radio until Beverly Hills split the fanbase down the middle. Though Weezer tried to learn from their mistakes on The Red Album, they ended up going right back down the rabbit hole again with Raditude.
Even though Make Believe may have been their attempt to capitalize on the kind of pop punk sound that was happening around the mid '00s, Raditude is a blatant attempt to go pop, down to featuring guest songwriters like the infamous Dr. Luke and even having Lil Wayne contribute a guest verse to the song Can't Stop Partying. Aside from the song If You're Wondering..., each song on this album is everything that Weezer shouldn't be, from songs talking about going to the club to making some really suggestive word choices like naming a song I'm Your Daddy.
For the dyed in the wool Weezer fans, you don't even need me to tell you why that doesn't work. Weezer were always known as the dorks of rock and roll who were always willing to stand up for the little guy. The minute that you heard a line like 'it's Weezer and it's Wheezy' though, you knew that things had started to go horribly wrong.
