10 Mistakes In Songs So Good They Kept Them In

5. "I Saw Her Again"'s Infamous Mistake

The central message of The Mamas & The Papas' I Saw Her Again might not be one of the most wholesome - it's about a guy knowingly stringing a woman on, despite knowing the destruction it causes - but it's an all-time classic.

It's also one of those songs with a truly compelling backstory as it's about singer Denny Doherty's affair with fellow band member Michelle Phillips, who was married to the OTHER male singer John Phillips. Talk about a Fleetwood Mac dynamic.

All MORAL mistakes aside, the song also includes an actual mistake as at the start of the third chorus, Denny Doherty appears to start singing early and stop, so we get "I saw her ... I saw her again last night."

It wasn't actually the singer's fault, it was an editor, but it's notorious all the same.
