Though just like many other modern bands with this style, there is a distinct air of paranoia.
Choruses as catchy as the plague exist frequently, but will delve into funky tangents that bend the mind to their will. UMO have especially been revered for their tight drumming capabilities, which set them apart from their more basic garage counterparts.
Singer Ruben Nielson's vocals are as classically androgynous as one can get, often implementing his voice as just another instrument in the mix as opposed to anything lyrical. The lo-fi quality of this album lends to its strange qualities, often sounding like some relic dragged up out of obscurity.
