10 More Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In The Same Year

9. Ramones - Leave Home & Rocket To Russia

Considering that most Ramones albums are only about ten minutes long, it's not surprising that they once pumped out two within eleven months of each other.

Following the astronomical success of their self-titled debut album, the band released their sophomore record Leave Home in January 1977. Since they had a bit more money to play with, the album sounded a lot slicker and had much higher production values.

Although, to some punk fans, this was probably a bad thing.

Whilst not an all-timer, Leave Home still has a lot of good stuff on it and showed the band's wider range. However, if you ask a Ramones fan to name an album other than the debut, they'll probably punt for Rocket to Russia.

Released in November 1977, the band's difficult third album was anything but a stumbling block. It contained even more innovation, proving that the band weren't interested in fast-paced power chords.

Ok, they weren't just interested in that.

This was punk at the peak of its power; songs like Sheena is a Punk Rocker and Rockaway Beach have become classics of the genre.

In short, 1977 was a good year to own a denim jacket and shove a safety pin through your nose.
