10 More Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In The Same Year
7. Alice Cooper - Love It To Death & Killer
Best we get this out of the way now - we're talking about Alice Cooper the band, not Alice Cooper the musician.
It's ok, you're allowed to be confused.
The group that would eventually spawn the king of shock rock made some nice music prior to 1971. It's just that nobody bought it.
They finally cracked the commercial market that year though, thanks to a little song called I'm Eighteen.
The lead single from the album Love It to Death was a total smash, giving the band the mainstream attention that had craved for so long. Or at least, the sort of attention that their accountants had craved.
Keen to capitalise on this great success, the members were shoved into a studio and told to put together a follow-up within a matter of months. In November 1971, the band's fourth album Killer made itself known.
More hit singles followed in the form of Under My Wheels and Be My Lover. Seven months later, in June 1972, the band released the album School's Out.
Alice Cooper laid the groundwork for their biggest ever hit in 1971, putting two treasured albums in the process.
