10 More Huge Songs That Bands Refused To Play Live

8. Daddy - Korn

The song Daddy, which comes from Korn’s 1994 self-titled debut album, was never released as a single, but that doesn’t mean it’s not popular amongst the fanbase.

It’s an incredibly powerful song, written from the perspective of a child undergoing a trauma, and singer Jonathan Davis gets himself into a right state on the recording, breaking down into tears at one point.

You can understand why the band are less keen to trot this one out live.

“If I play that song over and over every night, it'd lose its meaning,” Davis once said. “ I don't want people to expect me to freak out like I did on that.”

As a result, Daddy has only been played live 35 times, and most of those came from a single tour in 2015.

It’s not always easy for an artist to return to the place where they were at when they wrote a certain song and Davis has been very frank with how he feels about this incredibly emotional piece of work. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter too much that Daddy never gets played live, because the album version is so damn good.
