10 Most Anticipated Albums Of 2016

3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Title TBA

It's been a long while since Anthony Kiedis and his bands of sock-jocked hooligans created much buzz in the music world. Fortunately, it appears Stella has finally found a way to get her groove back. RHCP has announced that they will be releasing a brand spanking new album in 2016...without the help of Rick Rubin, a producer they've been chained to since 1989. Instead, Danger Mouse--who's worked with everyone from Beck and The Black Keys to Gnarls Barkley and Norah Jones--will be stepping in for "the beard." 2011's under-the-radar I'm With You was a mild critical success, but the funk/alternative/psychedelic/punk rock group has transitioned pretty seamlessly into a generic rock band over the last several years. Hopefully Danger Mouse can liven up their sound and grant us a truly unique album from RHCP for the first time since 1999's Californication. Kiedis seams pleased with the collaboration so far, saying "He's very good about coming up with super-modern ideas, but he'll also touch on the acoustic guitar in the control room and strip the song down to its acoustic essentials." Hopefully the results aren't quite as wishy-washy as that description.
