10 Most Badass Songs Of All Time
8. Misfits - Where Eagles Dare
An anthem for the downtrodden weirdos, so weird that their eyes and features are "jaded", remorseless, this is the garage-rocking sound of not having a single f*ck left to give.
The bass rumbles like an approaching storm as Glenn Danzig describes an army of the disaffected stalking the streets at night. The escalation of the song is powerful enough to evoke the undead coming back to life in this incantation; Danzig grows more restless and infuriated with each line, to a point at which he's screaming. The hatred curdles like the blood of his victim - "I ain't no godd*mn son of a bitch!" - and what a f*cking turn of phrase that is.
It's the perfect hype song because it can be applied to any real-life situation. It can soundtrack, and likely did, the defiant walk into school, directly past ever prick that ever gave you sh*t. It can soundtrack the aftermath of every sh*tty day of work.
The "You better think about it baby!" line is killer, too - a snapshot of the real aggression you daren't display in real life.
