10 Most Bizarre Music Videos Of The 21st Century

8. Men’s Needs - The Cribs

This is directed by Diane Martel, the same woman who directed the video for Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You, one of the most wholesome things to come out of the 1990s. In stark contrast, the video for Men's Needs was banned before the watershed on MTV2 as a result of complaints about nudity and violence. In fact three different versions of this video exists. One censored, one altered and one uncensored. The uncensored one is of course the most interesting.

The video featured Ross Jarman's arm being cut off and Ryan Jarman being decapitated by a nude woman. She then proceeds to hold his severed head while he continues his guitar solo. The nude woman also punches and licks band members during their performance.

The Cribs weren't too happy about their strange video being censored either. They claimed it was a very small number of complaints in comparison to how popular the video was. Regardless of this, the infamy of the video probably only helped propel the song to even further success. And all for the better.
