10 Most Bizarre Music Videos Of The 21st Century

5. Rock DJ - Robbie Williams

This song was EVERYWHERE in the UK in 2000 and it's not hard to see why. It's a standout song in Robbie Williams' solo career. Upon hearing the song you wouldn't in a million years think that such a joyous, danceable and upbeat song would be attached to a video that could be described as nightmare fuel. But you'd be dead wrong.

It starts off so innocuously. Robbie stands in the middle of a dance-floor whilst women rollerblade around him as he tries to get the attention of a DJ with his dance moves. Everything is pretty tame at this point. He then strips down to his pants and eventually into the nude. Maybe a bit raunchy for daytime TV but nothing too shocking.

Then just before the three minute mark, he begins ripping the skin off his own body with his bare hands. He then tears the flesh and muscle off of his body, flinging it at the dancers while blood sprays everywhere. At one point one dancer even takes a bite out of some of his flesh. He strips all the way down until he is just a skeleton and no more.

Surprisingly the morbid nature of the music video turned out to be a massive success. The song hit number one in the UK and also won Robbie Williams two BRIT Awards. One for British Single of the Year and one for British Video of the Year.

Rock DJ just goes to show that taking a bold risk can pay off immensely
