Behold...the bane of all parent's existence. From the minute Baby Shark grabbed ahold of the mainstream market, parents across the globe have had to deal with more "doo doo doos" than most people need in their lifetime. However, is there anything wrong with the song on principle?

Make no mistake, the song can get incredibly annoying, and that annoyance may warrant the amount of dislikes that it has gotten, but there is a little shimmer that hasn't diminished with age. People are certainly within their rights to hate on this tune, but that hate might be misdirected towards something entirely different. There might be a lot of repetition at play here, but isn't that what kids songs are supposed to do to help kids learn melodies? It may not make sense to have it become a cultural touchstone, but this is just one of those dumb songs that you're not really supposed to pay that much attention to.

No one's going to blame you for wanting to never hear this song for the rest of your life, and yet there's something to be said about a song that does its job efficiently enough to go beyond just its kids market. There's no good reason why Baby Shark should be as big as it is, but there's an amount of respect that comes with being able to capture both the absolute joy and venom from the masses in one go.
