10 Most Disturbing Music Videos In Hard Rock
9. The Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
It's kind of hard not to see Marilyn Manson as being a bit too edgy for his own good back in the day. Along with the massive amount of sleazy accusations he's found himself in in recent years, a lot of the music in his back catalog seems far more concerned with the horror aspect than actually throwing together at least a few decent riffs. On the Beautiful People though, every single aspect of shock rock seemed to fall into place.
Being the lynchpin behind his album AntiChrist Superstar, the video perfectly captures everything delightfully horrific about Manson. Taking place in what looks like an abandoned warehouse, the tribal drumming of the intro settled you into the groove before you get the first look at Manson's setup, which is probably what KISS would have done if they were more concerned about the mystique than the money.
You can really tell that Manson has a taste for the bizarre in this video, with him delivering a few choice lines with his lips peeled back as well as hovering above the rest of humanity in what looks like massive stilts built into his boots. While the '90s may have been about taking things back to basics, there's nothing wrong with making videos that messed with some heads from time to time.
