10 Most Drug-Fuelled Rock Stars In Music History

1. Keith Richards

Of all the rock stars featured on this list none have cultivated (deliberately or otherwise) an image of a hedonistic drug-fuelled musician more so than the lead guitarist of the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards. Unbelievably, like Mick Jagger he's still going strong to this day. Of course, one of the reasons why Richards is still going strong today is that he left behind the copious drug use many years ago - but the image still persists, and as the man put it himself back in 1994, "even though that was nearly twenty years ago, you cannot convince some people that I'm not a mad drug addict." Like Jagger he somehow managed to throw all the drugs under the sun into his system and emerge the other end a reasonably intact and functioning human being. Perhaps the clearest evidence that Richards was king of the rock stars when it came to drugs is the fact that they nearly killed him not just on one occasion but multiple times, adding fuel to the theory that he must be in some way immortal. Lucky is perhaps the more appropriate conclusion to arrive at, although it's anyone's guess just what kind of buzz he got from snorting a line of his dad's cremated ashes... Which other legendary drug-fuelled rock stars can you think of? Why not let us know in the comments?
