10 Most Embarrassing Onstage Moments In Rock

3. Paul McCartney Forgets Lyrics

It's not a bad gig when you have a classic streak as legendary as Paul McCartney. Hell, most other artists would kill to say that they could write a fraction of the amazing hits that Macca has graced us with over the years. When you have that many songs though, time can play tricks on you when you take them out of the vault.

Amid the unplugged craze happening in the late '80s and early '90s, McCartney stepped up to the plate for his own acoustic based show, where he dusted off some of his Beatles cuts along with his solo material. Considering so many of the Beatles early songs featured acoustics, this gave him the opportunity to break out the old fan favorite We Can Work It Out, only to forget the words about midway through the song.

This was also one of the times where we see the perfectionist side of McCartney rear its head, as he brings the entire band to a stop only to start the entire song over again so he can get it right the second time around. Making it through the rest of the set without so much as a hitch, this kind of little hiccup in the performance is proof that even with that high a pedigree, even the most legendary of artists can fall every now and again.
