10 Most Exciting Rock Music Albums Still To Come In 2023
8. Lost At Sea - Chris Shiflett
On June 2nd, Foo Fighters released their eleventh studio album, But Here We Are, their first body of work since the tragic death of long-term drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.
The album went down like a treat, with some publications labelling it one of the band's best ever. Any Foos fans out there who want a little bit more need not worry, because one of the group's guitarists is gearing up for a solo release later this year.
Chris Shiflett joined Foo Fighters in 1999, having floated around the punk scene for a number of years. Since then, he's participated in several side projects, before launching his solo career in 2017.
October 20th will see Shiflett drop his third record under his own name. Lost at Sea will take on a slight country edge, with the guitarist referring to lead single, Damage Control, as "Ska-mericana" in an interview.
Whilst this genre change might put some fans off, it'll be nice to see what the man can do outside of a hard rock setting. If it doesn't work out, then at least he'll have his millions of Grohl-bucks to fall back on.
