10 Most Exciting Rock Music Albums Still To Come In 2023
6. Heaven :x: Hell - Sum 41
Pop punk legends Sum 41 made the shocking announcement earlier this year that they would be splitting up after the release of their next album.
This was shocking because most people assumed they had broken up years ago.
In fact, the band released an album as recently as 2019, with Heaven :x: Hell (alternative spellings are available) set to be their eighth studio effort since the release of All Killer No Filler back in 2001.
That was 22 years ago, by the way, just to make you feel old.
Heaven :x: Hell, which is yet to receive a release date, is set to be a double album. One disc, Heaven, will see a return to the band's pop punk roots, whilst Hell will continue the heavier playing style they've adopted in recent years.
Sum 41 clearly want to go out on a high, celebrating everything they've achieved over the last two decades and more.
They may not be as popular as they once were, but they made a lot of people very happy when they were at their peak, so this album is the perfect opportunity to give them the send-off they deserve.
