10 Most Expensive Music Videos Ever Made

9. 'Victory' - Puff Daddy

Cost: $2.7m ($4.2m with inflation)

Release: 1998

Seven years on from MC Hammer's OTT nonsense, Puff Daddy got in on the act. 'Victory' is notable for a few things. Firstly, it was the final verse The Notorious B.I.G. recorded before being shot (he recorded this in 1997). Secondly, it featured way too many camera cuts. Seriously, trying to keep up with what's happening as rap verses pulse in the background is a chore.

Thirdly, it's just not very good.

The video has this odd religious sentiment, and that certainly doesn't sit well with Daddy's overtly money-obsessed presentation. The entire project comes across as the music-laced trailer to some late-90s B-movie that went straight in bargain bins at Walmart.

'Come With Me' is a better song too, and not only because it samples Led Zeppelin's 'Kashmir'.
