10 Most Hated Classic Rock Songs (From Great Bands)
1. Run For Your Life - The Beatles
The Beatles were one of the few bands that some could say had a perfect career. While not every song was meant to be an all-time classic, each of the band's records had great material up until their breakup in the late 60's. It's easy to look at the band's tenure with rose-colored glasses, but even the band had a fair share of songs they hated.
Rubber Soul was known as the album that saw the band expanding beyond their typical mop top sound, but John Lennon was particularly ashamed that a song like "Run For Your Life" made the final cut. Most of the album revolves around the band peeling back the layers of love to create something more complex, which makes this tale of violent romantic spite look so much worse by comparison.
Lennon himself was even hesitant to record the song due to its subpar writing, but the deadline for the album demanded that the band bring whatever material they had to the table. Recorded at the very beginning of the sessions, this song was quickly knocked out and promptly forgot about until the final mastering process, where the song was included in the final version. Though Rubber Soul is one of the greatest albums the band would ever make, this song feels much more uninspired than the classics it has to sit next to.
