10 Most Hated Hard Rock Bands Of All Time
6. Metallica
Ok, how does Metallica get put on the list of most hated bands in history? These guys have been redefining the metal genre for decades with a discography that has yielded multiple classics. However, the Metallica train does seem to have a few bumps on its track.
It seems that every risk that the band has taken over their storied career has been met with an intense backlash. From the bands use of ballad-heavy material with The Black Album to their selling-out period during Load and Reload, the band's experimental delves into the mainstream have led to them getting some pretty nasty stuff thrown their way. This reached an absolute apex with St. Anger, an album that was mired by horrible production, poorly thought out riffs, and a snare drum that was enough to trigger migraines.
Though the band have weathered more than their fair share of hate, it's respectable that the band finds a way to get back after each and every setback. For every time they release something like Lulu, there's another great album like Death Magnetic waiting just around the corner for fans to enjoy. Metallica's career trajectory may not be the most consistent, but the good times outweigh the bad times on almost any day of the week.
