Although she’s undoubtedly become one of the most successful mainstream hip-hop acts to emerge from the last decade, Nicki Minaj has been just as prolific when it comes to starting rivalries. A lot of these have come off the back of passive aggressive tweets sent out by the singer, because nothing says hip-hop quite like the rosy cheeks emoji.

Minaj has traded words with Mariah Carey, who claimed she couldn’t sing, Miley Cyrus, over the former Hannah Montana’s portrayals of black men and women in her music videos, as well as Christina Milian, who apparently stole her catchphrase: ‘Pretty on Fleek’.

But Nicki’s most notorious bust up is with Lil’ Kim, who Minaj had previously looked up to as an idol. Lil’ Kim supposedly called Minaj out for stealing her style – many fans have pointed out the similarities between promotional material for Nicki’s early work and Lil’ Kim’s 1996 Hard Core album – and both women have traded diss tracks back and forth since then.

Minaj has stated in multiple interviews that she respects and admires Lil’ Kim, but their feud shows no signs of slowing down, as Kim decried Nicki’s statement, claiming she was just using her to gain publicity.
