10 Most Infamous Shows In Rock History

2. Pearl Jam at Roskilde

For the most part, people want to go to a show to have a good time. Aside from all of the headaches that might come with getting to the show and parking, you don't really need to worry about your life being in jeopardy. In Pearl Jam's case though, their performance at Roskilde was enough to put miles on each members' soul.

Up until this point, Pearl Jam had played festival shows like this countless times, with some of their greatest live footage being from these performances. As the band got underway though, the crowd started to inch closer and closer to the stage, proving to be fatal to those who were already at the barricade. Despite Eddie Vedder's insistence that everyone take a step back, the crowd couldn't be quelled, resulting in nine fans being killed at the front of the stage.

Ever since, Vedder has made it his mission to never get to a place like this again, saying that he felt like he was in a dream state and numb when he finally did realize the horrible event he had just witnessed. This marked a turning point for Pearl Jam as a whole as well, with them starting to question the reasoning behind their every move whenever they take to the road. With the fallen fans being immortalized in the lyrics to Love Boat Captain, this is a dark day for Pearl Jam that will never be forgotten by the people who saw it firsthand.
