Someone's inevitably going to go mad that I haven't included Eminem in this list because gosh darnit - Eminem is where hip hop begins and ends. Maybe I'll do a Top Ten Obnoxious Eminem songs list. He could certainly fill this list by himself. But apart from a brief guest appearance, there is no Eminem on this list. That would be too obvious and populist for me. I have compiled a list of seriously objectionable songs from the history of Hip Hop featuring some shining luminaries of the genre. He hates it and wants to escape it but is too bogged down in it. This leads to him hating himself and saying outright that he wants to die and is engineering his own death - consciously. This song was recorded in his last year on earth - 1996 -and eerily foreshadows his death in several lyrics: Young, strapped and I don't give a f**k, I'm hopeless Live a thug life losing my focus baby! Mercy is for the weak and when I speak I scream Afraid to sleep I'm having crazy dreams Vivid pictures of my enemies and family times God forgive me cos it's wrong but I plan to die Either take me to heaven and understand that I'm a G Did the best I could raised in insanity Or send me to hell cos I aint begging for my life Aint nothing worse than this cursed ass hopeless life So 2pac veers between venomous hatred, violence and despair in this song.
